Sites like intuit, web.com, and yahoo all charge monthly for a design that will be cut and paste from a pool of features. Also most of these companies own your domain and the website itself. So if you try to move forward and take the domain name with you I have heard of fees up to $250 and more to transfer the domain. So be cautious and read all contracts before you sign them.
4. Ask for references. There is not a company that will be shy to give a reference or 3 if they do good work. If the design agency is good there clients are more than willing to take a call on the web design agencies behalf that did them so well.
A web design agency that is a specialist in your needs in usually the way to go. Although price may be a factor but make sure you do your due diligence and ensure you are dealing with reputable agency. Good luck and happy hunting.
